This is a beautiful oil on canvas Dutch coastal scene, painted by a very talented Dutch landscape artist, Aad Woudstra, born 1942, Leiden, The Netherlands. The scene depicts fishing boats coming into shore with their catch of the day, with figures seen on the beach with their baskets. It is in a beautifully carved gold frame. Aad Woudstra received his fine arts education in Leiden. In addition to his studies at the Leiden Art Academy, he was also tutored gy the well-known Dutch artist, Leny van Nooijen. His paintings depict traditional postoral Dutch landscapes, but they are rendered in a more impressionistic style, with brilliant golds of autumn, verdant greens of spring, blue skies and orange sunsets. Woudstra's works have been exhibited in Holland and Canada, and sold in England, Germany, Holland, and California. He continues to reside in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
