This is a rare Dutch Freedom spoon, ca. 1905. The top of the spoon has a 17th century motif: the Dutch virgin leaning on a bible, which is on an altar. In her right hand, she hold a spear with a freedom head on top. It is hallmarked with a Dutch silver mark and date letter (1905) in the top of the bowl of the spoon, as well as a mercurius head underneath the altar on the top of the handle. Needless to say, a very interesting piece of silver.
