This is a quite unusual and wonderful replica of a Mesopotamian mirror, ca. 1850. This sculpture has a man holding a large circular "mirror" that shows a man and a woman--the woman has her hand around the man's waist and is holding a cup. The sculpture has a footed square base. This was bought at a fundraiser for the University of Archeology in Leiden, The Netherlands. it has a wonderful verdigris patina.
