This is one of 5 wonderful oil on canvas paintings by noted and listed German artist Wilhelm Gdanietz, born in Mainz, Germany, 1893; died in Dusseldorf, either 1962 or 1969. Gdanietz was famous for his paintings of Vollendammer people, in Vollendam, The Netherlands. He painted the people and fishermen in their native Vollendam dress; he also painted many portraits and genre and interior scenes.

This particular oil on canvas is entitled "Vollendamse Visser". It is a wonderful interior scene that depicts a Vollendamer fisherman repairing his net. It is finely detailed with bold colors.  It is signed bottom right.
